Posted a joint review for White Horse at The Book Pushers here - http://thebookpushers.com/2012/12/10/joint-review-white-horse-by-alex-adams/Quickie review/thoughts:Four and half stars - This is a hard book to review because of the themes and unapologetic stark and chilling tones. Within the first pages, there is something that turned my stomach, but the prose and fantastic characterisation of the heroine, Zoe sucked me into the story even though this is a book that is full of desolation and shocking events and it was hard to read. But there is also elements of hope and even black humour which helped to balance the dark tone. But I loved Zoe's quest and determination to be reunited with her lover and the father of her child, and the whole greek mythic overtones was conveyed beautifully. It is definitely not an easy book to read, but it is wonderfully written and the themes and motifs stay with you for a long time.
